Noise changes lives. It affect your residents' health and well-being. Together, we can support your residents by giving them the capability to record the noise affecting them.
Our straight forward yet powerful noise monitoring equipment will also provide you with the accurate and objective noise data you need to make the right decision.
The Trojan2 Noise Nuisance Recorder was designed in conjunction with Local Councils, Environmental Health Officers and Housing Associations to allow you to measure, monitor and record noise nuisance quickly, easily and effectively.
Please note: we do not sell or hire the Trojan noise nuisance recorder to domestic customers. If you are an individual who is experiencing nuisance noise, you should contact your local authority or housing association. If you don't know who your local authority is, you can visit the UK Government website to find out. You can also find out more information about reporting a noise nuisance complaint here.
With the Trojan2 Noise Nuisance Recorder, we've created a system that provides users with the capability to record the noise affecting them and that gives you accurate, objective noise data and recordings.
The whole system, from the recorder through to the software, is simple to use for both you and end users so that you can be sure that the information you get is actionable and reliable.
All of our equipment is designed, manufactured and supported from our head office in the UK, giving you peace of mind that if you need support, advice or information, you can talk directly to the team that has designed the product. As a Trojan customer, you'll have direct access to our technical support team who are always on hand to offer any help that you may need.
We're always looking to enhance and develop the Trojan and the NoiseTools software. There are a number of features in both that have been added as a direct result of discussions and requests with our existing customers.
This allows us to stay up-to-date with any changes in legislation, regulations, standards or guidelines, giving you a product that you can rely upon for years to come.
As a Trojan customer, you'll also have exclusive access to our NoiseAid App. This has been designed to help you gather data before deploying the Trojan, saving you time and making your resources more effective.
A Trojan can help you monitor, manage and analyse noise nuisance complaints quickly, easily and with the minimum effort.
Once you've decided to deploy the Trojan (the NoiseAid App can help with this), it's a simple process to setup the equipment and to start getting reliable, actionable information.
By making the system quick and simple to deploy, the amount of time that you need to spend on site is dramtically reduced. All you need to do is connect up the power, calibrate the instrument, lock the case and you're ready to go.
You can record comments or information into the system as an audio recording, which you can listen to when you download the data, then you're ready to go.
All the user needs to do is press the remote control to trigger an audio recording that is stored automatically alongside the measured noise levels.
Download the measurement data into the NoiseTools software and quicly review and listen to recordings.
In addition to the standard features and functions provided with a Trojan2, we can supply a range of upgrades, enhancements and options to tailor the system to exactly meet your requirements.
Examples include playback speakers and headphones, wired remote controls and additional wireless remote controls. Just let us know what you need and we will build you a system to do exactly what you need.
When you are deploying a noise nuisance recorder, it's vital to know that you’ll get good quality recordings and noise measurement data.
With the Trojan2, there’s no need for step-by-step instructions as it’s just a matter of plug in, calibrate and you’re ready to go.
If you forget to press start, the instrument will automatically start measuring after 10 minutes. This also means that if the user accidentally removes the power, the instrument will restart when power is restored.
It's vital that any noise equipment is easy for the user to operate. The Trojan2 simply requires the user to press the 'Start' button on the wireless remote control and the audio recording begins. A clear, bright LED shows when audio is being recorded and where appropriate, a wired remote control can be installed.
Listening to recordings and analysing data is a key part of noise nuisance management and something that traditionally has taken a lot of time.
The NoiseTools software is simple to use, saving you time whilst giving you a wide range of features and functions that can be used as needed.
NoiseTools is free from any installation or licensing restrictions and can be installed onto as many PCs as needed, at no additional cost.
Key Features of NoiseTools:
The simplest method for prioritising noise nuisance complaints is asking complainants to keep a diary logging the noise that is affecting them, including time, frequency, nature and persistence.
However, this data is often not easily accessible until the log is completed.
The new NoiseAid App gives complainants the ability to instantly log disturbances via their smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.
By simply logging on with a secure PIN, the user can quickly and easily report details about the noises that are causing them issues. All the information feeds directly onto a secure website portal, ready for you to review.
Users can be setup with the specific noise sources that they are looking to report, which are displayed clearly on the screen. All the user has to do is press start, choose the severity of the noise and press stop when the noise ends. It's that simple.
You can then view the data through the NoiseAid Dashboard and then decide which cases need additional investigations using the Trojan Noise Nuisance Recorder.
The NoiseAid App is available exclusively for Trojan customers.
The Trojan Noise Nuisance Product Training is a 1-Day workshop for Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Tenant Management Organisations who are using, or looking to use, the Cirrus Trojan Noise Nuisance Recorder and NoiseTools software to manage noise nuisance complaints.
The workshop will cover the use of the Trojan Noise Nuisance Recorder and the NoiseTools software, allowing delegates to get the maximum benefit from their equipment.
The level of the workshop will be tailored to the needs of all delegates. Whether you're new to your Cirrus equipment or an established user, this is the ideal oppportunity to ensure you're getting the best from your investment.
"Having the Trojan as part of our team is like having another member of staff who doesn't mind working the evenings and weekends.
Ross Jarvis / Senior Technical Officer,
The Trojan takes away the uncertainty of the if/when you will capture the noise and simply saves us having to camp out for hours."
Reading Borough Council
"The Trojan is very user friendly and we have never had an issue with tenants not being able to understand how to operate the remote for activating the recordings.
Aileen Fenlon / Anti-Social Environmental Health Officer, Wiltshire District Council
It is ideal for giving us a fuller picture of what is going on in the home because sometimes it is picking up more than just the noise issues."
"Previous noise nuisance recorders have been very complex to use, making it difficult for members of the Noise and Nuisance team to configure.
Muhammad Islam / Senior Environmental Health Officer, London Borough of Newham
The Trojan is simple to use and has the functionality that is necessary for noise nuisance to be accurately measured."
"The Trojan is particularly invaluable when the noise nuisance is sporadic.
Jill Edmondson / Communities Environmental Health Department, Wakefield Metropolitan District Council
It gives us a very clear picture of what is going on and it's useful for catching out falsified recordings. We find our Trojan recorders are in constant use all year round."
